Volunteerism in companies – How to ensure participation!

Written by Kourounakou Zoe | 11 Apr 2018

All these years we evaluate companies for the BEST WORKPLACES SURVEY we have observed that the awarded companies have shown a very rich portfolio of activities for contributing to society.

HR teams or corporate communication executives select to include in their annual plan, activities which promote either the protection of the environment or help NGOs. The Annual corporate report is usually accompanied with a CSR report where all the benefits and practices for employees are presented. The companies with better financial results usually choose sponsorship and donations. They design and implement communication campaigns for their CSR activities, in order to enhance their employer branding. Manufacturing companies measure their environmental footprint and find more efficient ways of operation or they choose to offer goods or services to the local community where their factories work. These are the good companies.

The excellent 'Best Workplaces' however do something more substantial than that. They inspire their employees to offer to the society as individuals. They promote volunteerism.
